Independent Test Labs

It is now possible to have your product tested in independent laboratories. You will first need to review the following information. These requirements are a proper subset of the requirements for testing at a Compliance Workshop because the demonstrated operation performed at a Compliance Workshop cannot be thoroughly reproduced in a lab environment.

Compliance Testing Information:

• USB-IF Compliance Test Procedure (pdf, 1.3MB) - This document describes the various test sessions and can be found towards the bottom of the page here http://www.usb.org/developers/docs.
• Checklists - Compliance checklists are a simple set of questions measuring product compliance in areas that are difficult to test. The main value of checklists is in the hands of the designer as the product is being designed and debugged. They serve as a double check of the areas of the spec that have proven to be least understood or hardest to design correctly. Get the value from these checklists for your products by using them correctly with the actual product designers at your company. A signed soft copy of the checklist must be filed with USB-IF in order for it to qualify for the Integrators List. Please provide the signed checklist when registering a product for testing.

Check to see which labs are available to test your product. Testing requests to USB-IF qualified independent laboratories are submitted online. Instructions for submitting a certification testing request are available for USB-IF members and non-member vendors.
