USB 3.1 USB (10 GT/s) Type-A and Micro-B Electrical Test Fixture Kit

The USB 3.1 USB (10 GT/s) Type-A and Micro-B Electrical Test Fixture Kit provides a worst case, ISI hardware channel for PHY’s. It is intended to assist companies in testing transmitter signal quality and receiver sensitivity for either hosts or peripherals.

The current kit contains fourteen test fixtures, 1 meter Standard-A to Micro-B cable, one 5 Volt DC power supply to provide V-Bus to peripherals, and a jumper (for two pin header). The fixtures consist of:

qty 3 – USB 3.1 Compliance Load Board (5.6”, 7.1”, 8.1”)
qty 3 – USB 3.1 Mock Host (7.2”, 8.7”, 9.7”)
qty 3 – USB 3.1 Mock Device (7.2”, 8.7”, 9.7”)
qty 1 – Host PHY Tx Fixture USB 3.1
qty 1 – Dev PHY Tx Fixture USB 3.1
qty 1 – USB 3.1 Host Fixture 1A
qty 1 – USB 3.1 Dev Fixture 1A
qty 1 – Rx CAL Fixture
qty 1– USB 3.1 Captive Cable Device Fixture Type-A (Not available at this time)*

* qty 1 – USB 3.1 Captive Cable Device Fixture Type-A is not available at this time. The USB-IF will ship this fixture to those who purchase the kit once it becomes available. 

Due to high demand each company is allowed a maximum order of two (2) kits at this time.

USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Signal Quality Test Fixtures

The USB-IF test fixtures used for certifying signal quality of hi-speed hosts and peripherals.  The fixtures eliminate the need for probes and require quality SMA cables for direct connection to the scope.  The fixtures include USB cables but do not include SMA cables.  The USB-IF does not sell or provide SMA cables and it is the vendor’s responsibility to obtain them. One recommendation for SMA cables includes the following: Agilent 15443A Matched Cable Pair (or equivalent).

Each test fixture set includes the following:
qty 1 - Device test Fixture
qty 1 - Host test fixture
qty 2 - Standard A to Standard B 1-meter cable
qty 1 - Standard A to Standard B short cable
qty 1 - Standard A to Micro B short cable

The USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Signal Quality Test Fixtures are available for US$650 (members) or US$900 (non-members). USB 2.0 Link Power Management (LPM) Peripheral Development Kit (PDK)

The USB 2.0 Link Power Management (LPM) Peripheral Development Kit (PDK) provides a host-side solution. It is intended to assist companies who are developing USB peripherals with the LPM feature.

The PDK includes a PCIe add-in host controller card that supports LPM L1. The cost of the PDK is US$800 (members) and US$1000 (non-members). The software to use with the PDK is available for download on the USB Tools page. Please direct questions regarding the LPM PDK to ssusbcompliance@usb.org.

The LPM PDK is the same product as the Fresco USB 3.0 xHCI-based PDK for SupersSpeed USB.

USB 3.0 Electrical Test Fixture Kit

The USB 3.0 Electrical Test Fixture Kit provides a worst case, ISI hardware channel for PHY’s. It is intended to assist companies in testing transmitter signal quality and receiver sensitivity for either hosts or peripherals.

The kit contains five test fixtures and one 5-Volt DC power supply to provide V-Bus to peripherals. The fixtures consist of:

qty 2 – Device Test Fixtures
qty 1 – Device Calibration Fixture
qty 1 – Cable Assembly to be used in conjunction with the fixtures. I
ncludes a USB 3.0 Standard A to Standard B (3 meter + 1 meter), Standard A to Standard B (4 inch) and Standard A to Micro B (4 inch).

USB 3.0 Cable Kit

The USB 3.0 Cable Kit provides five (5) SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) cables:

- Standard A to Micro B, 1 meter
- Standard A to Standard B, 8 inch
- Standard A to Standard B, 4 inch
- Standard A to Micro B, 4 inch

The USB 3.0 Cable Kit is available for purchase at a cost of US$150 (members) or US$200 (non-members). To purchase this kit, please complete the USB Product Order Form and fax or mail it to the address provided on the form. 

USB 3.0 xHCI-based PDK

The USB 3.0 xHCI-based Peripheral Development Kit (PDK) provides a host-side solution from Fresco Logic (FL1100 v1.0) or Renesas. It is intended to assist companies who are developing peripherals. For more information about what is shipped with the USB 3.0 xHCI-based PDK, please click here.

USB Functional Compliance Test Devices

The Functional Compliance Test Devices are designed to meet the requirements set forth in the USB2 Compliance Test Device Functional Specification, Revision 1.0. The test devices are used by the USB2 Transaction Translator Test Suite (USBHTT). The specification for the devices is available at http://developer.intel.com/technology/usb/spec.htm. The devices support a simple vendor command API that allows them to be used to deterministically test a wide variety of USB transfer and protocol scenarios.
