USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Signal Quality Test Fixtures

The USB-IF test fixtures used for certifying signal quality of hi-speed hosts and peripherals.  The fixtures eliminate the need for probes and require quality SMA cables for direct connection to the scope.  The fixtures include USB cables but do not include SMA cables.  The USB-IF does not sell or provide SMA cables and it is the vendor’s responsibility to obtain them. One recommendation for SMA cables includes the following: Agilent 15443A Matched Cable Pair (or equivalent).

Each test fixture set includes the following:
qty 1 - Device test Fixture
qty 1 - Host test fixture
qty 2 - Standard A to Standard B 1-meter cable
qty 1 - Standard A to Standard B short cable
qty 1 - Standard A to Micro B short cable

The USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Signal Quality Test Fixtures are available for US$650 (members) or US$900 (non-members). Over-Current Test Fixture

The over-current test fixture can be used to test and trigger current fault protection on a USB port by creating an over-current condition. The fixture is capable of drawing a variable load from 300mA to 1.8A and also includes a safety shut down to prevent overheating.

USB 2.0 / 3.0 Drop-Droop Fixtures - Not Accepting new orders

The USB 2.0 / 3.0 Drop-Droop fixtures assist companies in testing voltage drop and droop levels for hosts or hubs.

The fixture is shipped with the cables for testing convenience only and are not mandatory for use in certification: qty (8) USB 3.0 1-meter cables + qty (1) USB 3.0 4-inch cable.  A short, high quality cable assembly implementing 22AWG or larger power conductors should be used to minimize voltage drop across the cable.

The cost of the fixture and cables is US$400 (members) and US$450 (non-members). Refer to the Droop-Drop Fixture Support Manual for set-up instructions. Please direct questions regarding the fixtures to ssusbcompliance@usb.org.

USB 2.0 Link Power Management (LPM) Peripheral Development Kit (PDK)

The USB 2.0 Link Power Management (LPM) Peripheral Development Kit (PDK) provides a host-side solution. It is intended to assist companies who are developing USB peripherals with the LPM feature.

The PDK includes a PCIe add-in host controller card that supports LPM L1. The cost of the PDK is US$800 (members) and US$1000 (non-members). The software to use with the PDK is available for download on the USB Tools page. Please direct questions regarding the LPM PDK to ssusbcompliance@usb.org.

USB 3.0 Electrical Test Fixture Kit - Not Accepting new orders

The USB 3.0 Electrical Test Fixture Kit provides a worst case, ISI hardware channel for PHY’s. It is intended to assist companies in testing transmitter signal quality and receiver sensitivity for either hosts or peripherals.

The kit contains five test fixtures and one 5-Volt DC power supply to provide V-Bus to peripherals. The fixtures consist of:

qty 2 – Host Test Fixtures
qty 2 – Device Test Fixtures
qty 1 – Device Calibration Fixture
qty 1 – Cable Assembly to be used in conjunction with the fixtures. I
ncludes a USB 3.0 Standard A to Standard B (3 meter + 1 meter), Standard A to Standard B (4 inch) and Standard A to Micro B (4 inch).

The USB 3.0 Cable Kit provides five (5) SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) cables:

USB-IF Peripheral Development Kit (PDK) for Wireless USB

WHCI-based PCI add-in card

The USB-IF Peripheral Development Kit (PDK) for Wireless USB provides a host-side Wireless USB radio solution. It is intended to assist companies who are developing devices. It is not intended for companies developing host solutions.

L800 - Known Good Device for Wireless USB Interoperability Testing

The L800 is a known good device that can be used to test interoperability of Wireless USB devices in a test environment.  The L800 PCI adapter board inserts into a PCI slot, converting the standard PC into a Wireless USB mass storage device.  It operates at all data rates, supports both cable and numeric association, and supplies both wired and wireless USB connections.  The L800 ships with Native Device software and user documentation provided by LucidPort.

Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) Test Bed for Wireless USB Testing

The Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) Test Bed is used to analyze data gathered as part of the
Wireless USB electrical test procedures.

USB Functional Compliance Test Devices

The Functional Compliance Test Devices are designed to meet the requirements set forth in the USB2 Compliance Test Device Functional Specification, Revision 1.0. The test devices are used by the USB2 Transaction Translator Test Suite (USBHTT). The specification for the devices is available at http://developer.intel.com/technology/usb/spec.htm. The devices support a simple vendor command API that allows them to be used to deterministically test a wide variety of USB transfer and protocol scenarios.

USB Customer Hub (CHUB)

The CHUB has been discontinued. For compliance testing, we recommend you select a certified high-speed hub from the Integrators List. You may also use the Product Search on this site to identify certified high-speed hubs. A certified high-speed hub may be used in place of the CHUB in the USB-IF Compliance Test Procedure Revision 1.0rc2.
