Wireless USB Compliance Workshop & Certification Lab Hardware Prequalification Test

To determine that devices registered for the Wireless USB workshops operate within the basic functionality as defined in the Wireless USB specification, vendors must provide Wireless USB Command Verifier (WUSBCV) Log files generated by running the Wireless USBCV Tool on the device.  Debugging basic device functionality should be completed prior to attending a Compliance Workshop or sumbitting a device for compliance testing.

The EVM, PER, WUSBCV and WUSB Super Electrical suites use the WUSBCV test tools to operatue the DUT.  All submissions will be tested against a known good Wireless USB device/ host with the latest version of WUSBCV.  Performing these tests prior to the workshop will increase the odds of an expedient compliance test and is required to complete your workshop registration.

Required Log files

The following tests must be run:

EVM Loopback Only WUSB Test

  • Place the DUT 1.5 meters away from a known good Wireless USB device/ host and run the EVM loopback test.
  • Use the default Loopback test, max supported payload, 10000 packets, at Rate 53.3 using PL 0 for each device.
Wireless USB Tests
  • WHCI Framework tests: Select Addressed, Default, Configured and Unauthenticated States.
  • WHCI-DWA tests (if applicable)
DWA Downstream Electrical Test (If applicable)
  • A DWA without an embedded wired hub silicon feature will require wireless Electrical downstream port testing.

Each CV test will generate a log file located in the CV reports folder.  These files must be sent to USB-IF Administration when registering your product for the Wireless USB Workshop.

Log File Naming Convention

To minimize approval response time, use the "Optional Test Description" test window to prefix each CV report log as follows:

  • (Device name)_EVM_PER
  • (Device name)_WUSB
  • (Device name)_DWA_ELEC
  • (Device name)_DWA_CV

Email the compressed data in the form of a zip file to USB-IF Administration.
